ἐπεὶ δὲ καιρὸς ἐδόκει εἶναι, ἀπῇσαν οἱ πολέμιοι κύκλῳ τοῦ Τρικαράνου: ὥστε γὰρ τὴν σύντομον πρὸς τοὺς Πελληνέας ἀφικέσθαι ἡ πρὸ τοῦ τείχους φάραγξ εἶργε. μικρὸν δ᾽ αὐτοὺς πρὸς τὸ ὄρθιον προπέμψαντες οἱ Φλειάσιοι ἀποτρεπόμενοι ἵεντο τὴν παρὰ τὸ τεῖχος ἐπὶ τοὺς Πελληνέας καὶ τοὺς μετ᾽ αὐτῶν.
