The winter following nothing was done between the Athenians and Lacedaemonians because of the truce.
But the Mantineans and the Tegeatae, with the confederates of both, fought a battle at Laodicium, in the territory of Orestis, wherein the victory was doubtful;
for either side put to flight one wing of their enemies, both sides set up trophies, and both sides sent of their spoils unto Delphi.

Nevertheless, after many slain on either side, and equal battle which ended by the coming of night, the Tegeatae lodged all night in the place and erected their trophy then presently;
whereas the Mantineans turned to Bucolion and set up their trophy afterwards.
