<p>（<persName lang="greek"><surname full="yes">Ἀλέξανδρος</surname></persName>), a man whom Mithridates is charged by Sulla with having sent to assassinate Nicomedes. (Appian, <hi rend="ital">De Bell. Mithr.</hi> 57.)
He seems to be the same person as Alexander the Paphlagonian, who is afterwards (76, &amp;c.) mentioned as one of the generals of Mithridates, and was made prisoner by Lucullus, who kept him to adorn his triumph at Rome. </p><byline>[<ref target="author.L.S" targOrder="U">L.S</ref>]</byline></div2></div1></body></text></TEI.2>
