Decoration Description:

Side A: A departing warrior walks to left at the center. The warrior wears a cuirass, a red fillet over his helmet, and one red and one white greave, and he holds a spear in his right hand. His shield device is a white dog with a red eye. There is an old man with a white beard at left, facing right. He wears a red tunic and a red-striped cloak and carries a red cane. A man at right is facing left. He wears a red-striped himation.

Side B: giant (or Ajax?) in the center walking left has a shield with a white dog as device. He wears a bell cuirass, a short chiton, one red and one white greave, a helmet with a red fillet and white stripe on the crest. In his right hand he holds a spear. On his shield is a device of a white line. Athena wears an Attic helmet and in her raised hand there is a spear in dilute paint. Added red is used on her peplos and aegis. Her shield device is a chariot box. The scene may be interpreted possibly as Ajax and a statue of Athena.

A lotus and palmette band rings the neck. There are black and red tongues on shoulder. Palmettes and tendrils are seen under the handles. The lower body is decorated with zones of lotus buds, a meander, and rays near the foot.
