He added, also, that he did not send his best
cavalry;—I dare say, they were old troops, O Caesar: nothing to
your cavalry; but still they were the best men he had, his picked men. He
says, that one of the body was recognised as being a slave;—I do
not believe it; I never heard of it. But still, even if such a thing had
happened, I should not conceive that that was any fault of the king's.
