Περὶ τύχης κτητικῆς Τὰ μὲν οὖν τῆς κτήσεως ὁποῖά τινα ἔσται ληπτέον ἀπὸ τοῦ καλουμένου κλήρου τῆς τύχης, μόνου μέντοι καθ̓ ὃν πάντοτε τὴν ἀπὸ τοῦ ἡλίου ἐπὶ τὴν σελήνην διάστασιν ἐκβάλλομεν ἀπὸ τοῦ ὡροσκόπου καὶ ἐπὶ τῶν τῆς ἡμέρας καὶ ἐπὶ τῶν τῆς νυκτὸς γεννωμένων, δἰ ἃς εἴπομεν ἐν τοῖς περὶ [p. 374] χρόνων ζωῆς αἰτίας. σκοπεῖν οὖν δεήσει τούτου συνισταμένου τὸν τρόπον τοῦτον, τοῦ δωδεκατημορίου λαβόντας τὴν οἰκοδεσποτίαν, καὶ πῶς ἔχουσιν οὗτοι δυνάμεως καὶ οἰκειότητος καθ̓ ὃν ἐν ἀρχῇ διωρισάμεθα τρόπον: ἔτι δὲ τοὺς συσχηματιζομένους αὐτοῖς ἢ τοὺς καθυπερτεροῦντας τῶν τῆς αὐτῆς ἢ τῆς ἐναντίας αἱρέσεως: ἐν δυνάμει μὲν γὰρ ὄντες οἱ τοῦ κλήρου τὴν οἰκοδεσποτίαν λαβόντες ποιοῦσι πολυκτήμονας, καὶ μάλισθ̓ ὅταν ὑπὸ τῶν φωτῶν οἰκείως τύχωσι μαρτυρηθέντες: ἀλλ̓ ὁ μὲν τοῦ Κρόνου διὰ θεμελίων ἢ γεωργιῶν ἢ ναυκληριῶν, ὁ δὲ τοῦ Διὸς διὰ πίστεως ἢ ἐπιτροπιῶν ἢ ἱερατειῶν, ὁ δὲ τοῦ Ἄρεως διὰ στρατειῶν καὶ ἡγεμονιῶν, ὁ δὲ τῆς Ἀφροδίτης διὰ φιλικῶν ἢ γυναικείων δωρεῶν, ὁ δὲ τοῦ Ἑρμοῦ διὰ λόγων καὶ ἐμποριῶν. ἰδίως δ̓ ὁ τοῦ Κρόνου τῇ κτητικῇ τύχῃ συνοικειούμενος, ἐὰν τῷ τοῦ Διὸς συσχηματισθῇ, κληρονομίας περιποιεῖ, καὶ μάλισθ̓ ὅταν ἐπὶ τῶν ἄνω κέντρων τοῦτο συμβῇ, τοῦ τοῦ Διὸς ἐν δισώμῳ ζῳδίῳ τυχόντος ἢ καὶ τὴν συναφὴν τῆς σελήνης ἐπέχοντος: τότε γὰρ καὶ εἰς παιδοποιΐαν ἀναχθέντες ἀλλότρια κληρονομοῦσι: κἂν μὲν οἱ τῆς αὐτῆς αἱρέσεως τοῖς οἰκοδεσπόταις τὰς μαρτυρίας τῶν οἰκοδεσποτιῶν αὐτοὶ τύχωσι ποιούμενοι, τὰς κτήσεις ἀκαθαιρέτους διαφυλάττουσιν: ἐὰν δὲ οἱ τῆς ἐναντίας αἱρέσεως καθυπερτερήσωσι τοὺς κυρίους τόπους ἢ ἐπανενεχθῶσιν [p. 376] αὐτοῖς, καθαιρέσεις ποιοῦνται τῶν ὑπαρχόντων, τοῦ καθολικοῦ καιροῦ λαμβανομένου διὰ τῆς τῶν τὸ αἴτιον ποιούντων πρὸς τὰ κέντρα καὶ τὰς ἐπαναφορὰς προσνεύσεως.
