Now I know
that he will avoid the straight and honest path of defence, and will take a
devious course, abusing, slandering, and threatening to prosecute, arrest,
imprison, and the like. But he will find all this futile, if you duly attend to
the case; for which of these tricks has not been exposed over and over again?
