For what could be more serious than
chicanery and breach of the constitution, for both of which the defendant has
been condemned? Nor will I urge that even if you let off all other offenders, it
is surely wrong to give way to one who resorts to force, for that is surely an
outrage. I waive such considerations as these; but I do think that I can clearly
prove to you that the defendant's example confounds and destroys all order in
law and in government.
