ἐκεῖνος γάρ, ὦ ἄνδρες Ἀθηναῖοι, λέγεται πρὸς πατρὸς μὲν Ἀλκμεωνιδῶν εἶναι (τούτους δέ φασιν ὑπὸ τῶν τυράννων ὑπὲρ τοῦ δήμου στασιάζοντας ἐκπεσεῖν, καὶ δανεισαμένους χρήματ᾽ ἐκ Δελφῶν ἐλευθερῶσαι τὴν πόλιν καὶ τοὺς Πεισιστράτου παῖδας ἐκβαλεῖν), πρὸς δὲ μητρὸς Ἱππονίκου καὶ ταύτης τῆς οἰκίας ἧς ὑπάρχουσι πολλαὶ καὶ μεγάλαι πρὸς τὸν δῆμον εὐεργεσίαι.
