For the honor of rich sacrifice is always offered to you,1 nor is the last day of the month forgotten [780] nor the songs of young men or the choral chants. On a windy hill loud shouts of gladness resound to the beat of maiden dance-steps the whole night long.
1 This stanza describes aspects of the Panathenaea, a yearly festival in Athena's honor. The great sacrifice was offered on the last day of the month.
