110. Meanwhile news was brought to Demosthenes and the Acarnanians that the whole remaining1 force of the Ambraciots, who some time previously had been summoned from the city2 to join the troops in Olpae, were now on their way through the territory of the Amphilochians and were in entire ignorance of what had occurred. [2] Whereupon he at once sent forward a part of his army to lie in ambush in the roads and to occupy the strong places, himself at the same time preparing to support them with the rest of his forces.
