Epigrammatist
TLG Canon of Greek Authors and Works, Third Edition,
Smith's Dictionary of Greek and Roman Biography and Mythology, Vol , 1867, p. 1:
Brill's New Pauly: "Otherwise unknown epigrammatist, probably between the late
Hellenistic and beginning of the imperial era; the identification with the grammarian T. [3] is
unlikely (cf. [1; 2]). The only extant poem relates the bizarre death of Terpes (Terpander?),
who choked to death on a fig which fell into his mouth while he was singing, probably at the
Carnea in Sparta (Anth. Pal. 9,488)...." Albiani, Maria Grazia (Bologna).
