Historian
TLG Canon of Greek Authors and Works, Third Edition,
Smith's Dictionary of Greek and Roman Biography and Mythology, Vol , 1867, p. 1:
Brill's New Pauly: "Apollodorus, of Athens Scholar, 2nd cent. BC, His Χρονικά (Chroniká) in four books lists historical events
in chronological order. Its composition in iambic trimeters was intended as a mnemonic aid. The first three books extend to 144/3, and the fourth concludes
the series. It was based on the Χρονογραφίαι (Chronographíai) of Eratosthenes, which it replaced in public estimation and in its coverage. Eratosthenes
had stopped at the death of Alexander the Great in 323; A. continues the chronicle until shortly before his own death in about 110 BC, like Eratosthenes dating the
fall of Troy to 1184/3, but following Ephorus in putting Homer's composition much later, in 944/3....."
