Brill's New Pauly: "The poem entitled ‘Alexandra’, comprising 1,474
iambic trimeters, has been passed down to us under the name of L. [5]. But the scholiast on v.
1126 already assumes that the work could not be by the tragedian L. but must be by another
author because of the vaticinium ex eventu, in which the rise of the descendants of Aeneas,
i.e. the Romans, to world power is announced..."
