Decoration Description:
Danae and Perseus in chest. Danae, drawn in outline, rises from the chest, clad in a chiton and himation; the latter worn over the back of her head. She faces right. In front of her is her son Perseus (whose head and neck alone appear) with long black hair. The chest is decorated with dots and rays and has claw feet. Against the white of the raised chest lid fly four sea birds.
On the shoulder where the shoulder meets the neck are rays/tongues. On the body above the design is a running meander band broken up with squares with reserved crosses.
