Subject Description: Artemis is here shown wearing a double-belted chiton which falls to just above her knees. With her right hand held over her shoulder, she fastens her himation, which she also holds in front of her chest with her left shoulder. Boardman rightly notes that her hand extends so far over her shoulder that it appears as if she is reaching for an arrow in her quiver--and that the action of fastening the garment might have been a copyist's variant on the more traditional theme (for Artemis) of plucking an arrow.

Condition: Nearly complete

Condition Description: Restoration includes right hand, parts of the left arm and hand, right leg, drapery folds.
